Whether traveling by plane, train, or car, the journey can sure wreak havoc on your skin and hair.
Due to space restrictions, you can’t take along every single one of your favorite beauty products with you. Keep these tips in mind for your next trip to help your skin and hair stay in better shape 🙂
1. Ziplock bags are your best friend.
Super convenient to pack all your liquids together in one zip lock, even if not traveling by plane, they are a lifesaver for organization—they are clear and take up essentially no extra space.
2. Make up free travel.
Whether traveling by car or 35,000 feet above land, it’s a nice opportunity to go makeup free if you can help it, instead of letting makeup sit on your skin in the midst of that recycled air.
3. Hydrate more .
Especially if traveling by plane, it’s normal to get dehydrated at such high altitudes. There’s nothing worse than showing up to your destination with flaky skin and a tired, dull complexion! Take an empty water bottle and fill up in the terminal before taking off. Stay hydrated.
As for added skin hydration, slather on your favorite moisturizer and freshen up periodically with a hydrating mist. This will help lock in moisture in the skin.
4. Pack products that multitask.
Pack multi-purpose products to keep it simple. Things like a sunscreen that also doubles as an oil-absorbing face powder; a dry shampoo that also texturizes and adds volume to the hair..
5. Fix flat hair.
Traveling for long periods of time doesn’t do your hair any favors. It usually always results in the same thing—a big flat spot on the back of your head. For a quick fix, try dampening that area of hair to correct the root direction and then brush through as normal. Alternatively, throw your hair up in a top knot to keep it out of the way. When you get wherever you’re going, hop in the shower and shampoo and condition as normal.
